My name is Jack Sigler, though most people know me as Siggy.
I grew up in Austin, Texas before moving to Golden, Colorado to study computer science at Colorado School of Mines. My time in Golden proved to be the most influential period of my life, where I developed an intense passion for learning and creating, which I channeled through my study of programming and computer science.
I fell in love with computer science because the learning felt infinite, where learning a new concept seemed to open a door to ten more. After graduating with my bachelor’s, I felt that if I could think of something, I could build it. That feeling was addictive. So much so that I went straight back to school for my master’s.
Accompanying my love for learning, I fell in love with the mountains and spending time outside. Outside of the classroom, you could consistently find me camping, hiking, and especially skiing. Many of the greatest moments in my life have been spent doing what I love outdoors with close friends and family.
After graduating from Mines, I worked a seasonal job in Alaska before beginning my career as a software engineer in San Francisco.
Today, my passion for learning and the outdoors continues to shape how I live my life.
